A Riveting Flip and Write

Final Score and Why: 81/100 - Rivages offers an excellent puzzle experience and the usage of private drafting on shared cards makes this a really fun and clever game to play. I did find that I wished for a bit more variety in the solo challenges as I played through the game and potentially the option to include optional goals for the multiplayer mode, but those are more minor wishes that don’t detract heavily from the game itself.

I do have to note that this game does not offer a hearty challenge for those who are looking to immerse themselves into a deep and convoluted puzzle experience. While there are certainly great little puzzle elements to the game, it never strays too far beyond a simplistic puzzle experience, which may fit better for a younger audience or for those looking for an easier time. For those that are looking for a great little puzzle game that has fantastic elements and clever mechanics, Rivages offers a good little small-box option.

If you love exploration games, you enjoy drafting, or you just want to discover the secrets of a bunch of little islands, though, I’d definitely recommend Rivages! It’s super fun.

With its colourful island layouts and satisfying quest-driven gameplay, it’s perfect for those who love a quiet, rewarding puzzle to lose themselves in.

For those who like X and writes, this is a really neat implementation of that familiar genre with enough thrown in to make it feel fresh.

I love the look of the game. I think it's gorgeous, it has this bright, popping artwork. The whole thing looks bubbly and cartoony and incredibly welcoming.
